Lidl and Lactalis, New agreement

Almost 24 hours before the end of trade negotiations for 2020, the Lidl brand and the dairy manufacturer Lactalis announced an agreement to increase the price of milk. The price commitment of 380 euros / 1,000 liters (all premiums combined) covers the equivalent of 212 million liters of milk supplied by the 12,000 dairy farmers of Lactalis to the distributor. The agreement concerns all the references in national brands and in private label developed by Lactalis (Milbona, Envia, Silver Oak …) for Lidl France, i.e. 1,500 supermarkets. “I am delighted to be able to continue our action alongside dairy production. We are moving forward with more transparency and this is how we will be able to move the lines in order to ensure producers a fairer remuneration for their work “, confides Michel Biero, executive director of purchasing at Lidl. Four divisions of Lactalis are thus concerned: cheeses, UHT milk, butter & cream and ultra-fresh. “It is important to give visibility to the partner producers of the Lactalis group, always in line with the Egalim law and our commitments,” said Daniel Jaouen, CEO of Lactalis.
