ITV’s This Morning’s Dermot O’Leary & Alison Hammond Reveal the UK’s Top Cheese & Onion Flavour In Interview With Martin Lewis-
Thursday, 25 July 2024: The UK’s leading Consumer Affairs, Financial Journalist, Broadcaster and Founder of MoneySavingExpert.com, Martin Lewis, announced the findings of a delicious piece of research on ITV’s this Morning on Thursday morning.
In true forensic consumer affairs style, Martin Lewis set out to find the UK’s best Cheese & Onion crisp via a ‘data-crunch’ mass taste test of 44 competing brands of cheese & onion flavour, all blind-tasted by him along with 25 other tasters. The crisps were rated on overall recommend-ability and strength of flavour.
Irish Keogh’s Mature Cheese & Onion flavour from Keogh’s Farm North Dublin, which is stocked in Waitrose in the UK since 2021, came out No.1over 44 brands of crisp with Kettle Vegan Sheese & Red Onion surprisingly coming second over Tayto Craft Vintage Irish Cheddar & Onion which was third. The tasty line up included all brands found in UK supermarkets.
Based in North Dublin, Keogh’s Farm dates back over 200 years through generations. 2011 saw them create their own crisp brand made from potatoes grown on the farm and featuring only quality Irish food ingredients. In recent years, Keogh’s has gone from strength to strength and now export to over 18 countries worldwide.
Tom Keogh, CEO of Keogh’s Crisps, comments, ‘The first we heard of the news was through an Irish customer who saw it on television and contacted us. We are just delighted with such a great win which will go a long way to support the Keogh’s brand in the UK.’
