Walmart Extends Holiday Convenience with Deals, Speedy Shipping, and Festive Innovation

Walmart is redefining the holiday shopping experience with expanded delivery options, exclusive deals, and immersive digital innovations. As the countdown to Christmas continues, the retail giant aims to make last-minute shopping seamless and affordable for customers nationwide.

Shipping Deadlines Extended for More Gifting Flexibility
This year, Walmart offers extra time for customers to find and send the perfect gifts. Orders for next-day and two-day shipping are accepted until 12:30 p.m. local time on Dec. 23, while Express Delivery—delivering in as little as 30 minutes—remains available until 4 p.m. on Dec. 24. Shoppers opting for same-day pickup can place their orders by 12 p.m. on Dec. 24, ensuring flexibility during the busiest time of year.

Savings Highlight the Season
Walmart’s “Last-Minute Gifts” event, running Dec. 9–24, features significant discounts across its tech, toys, fashion, and home categories. Notable deals include:

  • JBL Noise Cancelling Earbuds – $39 (Save $40)

These offers join a wide assortment of products aimed at meeting diverse gifting needs while keeping budgets intact.

Expanding Convenience for a Hassle-Free Holiday
In addition to competitive pricing, Walmart is simplifying holiday logistics with its Holiday Guarantee. Returns are accepted until Jan. 31, with Walmart+ members gaining the added benefit of door-to-door returns—no labels or boxes required. The introduction of One-Click Stockings provides curated gifts under $25, making last-minute preparations effortless.

Innovative Digital Shopping Experiences
In a partnership with Google Creative Works, Walmart is offering customers Background Joys, an immersive series of shoppable digital holiday scenes. From cozy chalets to iconic holiday settings like Luke’s Diner from Stars Hollow, the initiative combines festive ambiance with interactive shopping through platforms like YouTube and Roku.

A Streamlined Supply Chain Supports Seasonal Demands
Walmart’s supply chain investments take center stage this holiday season. With four automated fulfillment centers now operational, the retailer can deliver next-day or two-day shipping to 95% of U.S. households. By year-end, approximately 3,000 stores will receive inventory from automated distribution centers, enabling quicker shelf restocking and faster delivery.

David Guggina, Walmart U.S.’s executive vice president of supply chain operations, highlights the progress: “We’re ensuring customers can count on Walmart having the items they want, when they want them, no matter when they choose to shop this holiday season.”

Affordable Feasting for Holiday Gatherings
To round out the season, Walmart introduces a Holiday Ham Meal designed to feed 12 for less than $5 per person. With 28 items included, the meal underscores Walmart’s commitment to delivering quality and affordability at the holiday table.

As Walmart ushers in the holidays, its mix of extended deadlines, exclusive deals, and innovative technology aims to bring ease and joy to the final stretch of the season.
