Asda extends Scan & Go Mobile to all stores to encourage contact free shopping

To further support social distancing measures for customers, Asda has extended its Scan & Go Mobile offering to all 581 stores.

From today, the mobile service is live in every Asda store, with customers able to download the app on their phone and use it to scan and pack their groceries as they shop.

The supermarket recognises that right now, customer and colleague safety is more important than ever before, so the roll out of Scan & Go Mobile should offer peace of mind in these uncertain times – enabling customers to shop, pack and checkout, contact free.

Shoppers can also keep tabs on their spending as they go, helping to save money and keep an eye on their budget – something that for many households is currently under pressure.

Louise Bagshaw, Senior Director of Retail and Front End Innovation at Asda, said: “We’re always looking for ways to make shopping with us as easy as possible and offer options that suit our customers’ needs.

“The accelerated roll out of Scan & Go Mobile provides another option when shopping in all of our stores that is contact free, to bring added peace of mind during these uncertain times.

“We understand that this option may not be suitable for all of our customers and continue to follow strict social distancing in our stores, to help keep our customers and colleagues safe – no matter how they shop with us.”

The move sees the service introduced to an additional 223 Asda stores.

This week Asda also announced it is extending opening hours in all stores to give customers even more time to shop. Stores are now open between 8am and 10pm, Monday to Saturday*. Customers can check their local store’s opening hours on the Asda store locator: https://storelocator.asda.com/

* Individual store opening hours may vary – customers are advised to check the individual opening hours of their nearest store before they visit.
