DECATHLON AND TAYAL SIGN AN AGREEMENT TO DEVELOP PRODUCTION IN ALGERIA!

According to the Facebook page of Decathlon in Algeria, a cooperation agreement was signed on Sunday, February 19 between the French brand and the Algerian-Turkish company Tayal. This collaboration will cover the design and production of Decathlon products under the slogan “Made in blady by Decathlon & Tayal”.

The signing ceremony was held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Industry in the presence of Minister Ahmed Zeghdar, where Decathlon and Tayal have formalized their partnership.

Tayal is the result of a collaboration between the Turkish group Tay and the Algerian public companies C&H, Texal and Madar, and has a huge textile factory in Sidi Khettab, in the wilaya of Relizane, considered the largest in Africa. According to the same source, an entire unit of this plant will be dedicated to the production of fabrics Decathlon.

 

A partnership that aims to export the brand’s products to Africa

The two partners plan to produce sportswear with the aim of exporting them to African countries, as reported Decathlon Al Djazair.

Decathlon, a French brand of sporting goods and leisure, has opened several stores in Algeria, especially in major cities. Like other franchised brands, Decathlon is facing problems caused by restrictions on imports of products for resale in the state, decided by Algeria to preserve its foreign exchange reserves and encourage these brands to invest in local production.

Thus, Decathlon, which already manufactures clothing in Algeria to sell in its stores, has decided to increase its local production through its partnership with Tayal to supply its stores.

Several franchised brands in Algeria have recently reported difficulties in importing products and supplying their stores.
