Sainsbury’s has today relaunched its newly enhanced Shepperton High Streel Local following a major investment to extend and upgrade the store, converting it to the retailer’s innovative Neighbourhood Hub format.
The new look Shepperton store is the eighth Sainsbury’s Local to adopt the Neighbourhood Hub format, joining previously upgraded stores in Melbourne, Billingshurst, Whitstable High Street and Penwortham and recently opened stores in Woodhall Spa, Midhurst and Bishop’s Waltham.
As well as being brighter and fresher as a result of the transformation, the new 5,477 sq. ft. store is now over 20% larger, providing customers with a more spacious and convenient layout. Customers can also enjoy a larger selection of branded and own brand pantry staples, in a greater variety of sizes. Almost 900 new products have been added to the store’s range, providing additional options throughout every section, including fresh food, fruit and veg, grocery and even the instore bakery where fresh bread and pasties are baked every day.
Sainsbury’s Neighbourhood Hub stores are a food-led extension of Sainsbury’s renowned convenience offer whose increased size and range, as well as location within communities, enables longer customer missions. The vision for Neighbourhood Hub stores is to be the best “in neighbourhood” one-stop offer, with great value product choice and community at their heart.
Alongside the new Hub stores, a further seven Sainsbury’s convenience stores have launched additional Neighbourhood Hub product ranges since the new format went live in 2019 in pilot store Woodhall Spa. These range improvements at Victoria Place, Canada Water Station, Earlsfield, Ascot, Bishopston and two stores in Hackney also aim to provide customers with the opportunity to do more of their food shopping locally.
Patrick Dunne, Sainsbury’s Property Director, said: “Our newest Neighbourhood Hub looks and feels brilliant and I’m sure our customers will enjoy the result of our investment in Shepperton High Street. Our Neighbourhood Hub stores are designed to provide the best possible offer for the local communities they serve, with a product range that gives customers access to everything they need for a weekly shop in their own neighbourhood.”
