Frostkrone Food Group: Innovations

The Frostkrone Food Group has long since been known for its varied and comprehensive selection of exciting finger food and snacks. At this year’s ANUGA, the group of companies will once again present its latest finger food and snack innovations. The focus here will be on new vegetarian and vegan products.

The vegan seafood range is brand new. The purely plant-based shrimps and calamari are covered in a wonderfully crispy coating and are by no means inferior to the originals in terms of taste and consistency.

Both these vegan finger food variations enhance the “Really?!!” plant-based range with its wealth of completely vegan products, which the Frostkrone Food Group launched last year. So far the range includes a large selection of cheese as well as fish, beef and chicken alternatives.

Vegan shrimps and calamari are a real highlight for all those who like to enjoy something special without having to put a lot of effort into planning and preparation. They are equally good as a small snack with an aperitif or as an accompaniment to salad or pasta.

With its wide and varied range of plant-based finger food and snack alternatives, the Frostkrone Food Group matches the lifestyle of a generation that increasingly less often opts for traditional meat products, without wanting to miss out on taste and choice.

Flavourites – extraordinarily different

The new Flavourites are produced using special technology that enables the size and weight of products to be flexibly adapted according to customer requirements. This is a great benefit, especially for the food service sector, as all products are of an equal size and weight, and can be easily portioned and cooked successfully to a T.

There is also a high degree of flexibility when it comes to the choice of ingredients. This means there are plenty of options for developing and manufacturing new product ideas.

Here are three examples of the variations in the Flavourites style on offer from the Frostkrone Food Group:

  • Flavourites Crispy Cream Cheese Jalapeños Pops: First of all you get the crunchy coating, which, thanks to the improved recipe, works just as well in your home oven as in a professional kitchen. Then you are hit by the magnificently hot spiciness of the jalapeños, which is beautifully paired together with the mild and velvety flavour of cream cheese.
  • Flavourites Crispy Cream Cheese Paprinos Pops: These are the sweet and spicy combination of red cherry peppers and luscious cream cheese enveloped in a crispy coating.
  • Flavourites Crispy Nacho Cheese Jalapeños Bites: A crispy outside that hides a surprise of hot jalapeños and spicy nacho cheese.

So small, so fast, so tasty

All finger food products are prepared to a crispy finish in all the usual types of kitchen equipment such as ovens, fan ovens, hot air fryers, deep fryers and also speed ovens (e.g. Impinger, Turbochef).

They can be eaten in many different ways: as classic finger food, as a small snack or as a side dish.

Food service range is further expanded

The Frostkrone Food Group has been an internationally acclaimed partner for the retail and food service sector for many years. Because the group of companies knows what counts for a range of finger food and snacks to appeal to the target group.

During the pandemic, Frostkrone steadily expanded its position in the retail sector at an international level. The food service sector got left behind in contrast. In the coming months, Frostkrone Food Group will significantly increase its activities in this area in order to gain market share.

“The food service sector is currently battling with many challenges. A lack of planning reliability and staff are taking a particularly heavy toll and causing a drop in sales. Our diverse assortment and the ease with which it is prepared means we can offer solutions here. Because our range of finger food and snacks ranges from high-quality catering to casual street food,” says Emiel Lommen, Global Commercial Director of the Frostkrone Food Group and adds, “Our assortment of finger food and snacks provides a long shelf life, meaning that food waste can be prevented.”

Big opportunities also arise from the group’s international presence thanks to eight locations in four countries, guaranteeing local contact persons and short distances.
