As an official supporter of ‘Healthy Eating Week’ (14-18 June), Waitrose has paired up with leading UK nutrition charity the British Nutrition Foundation (BNF) to host a free special cooking session to help ‘Find Your Healthier You’.
Hosted by Waitrose Health Manager, Dr Emma Williams, along with Waitrose Cookery School Chef Tutor, Emily Merricks and British Nutrition Foundation Nutrition Scientist, Alex White, Waitrose Cookery School encourages you to ‘Be the Chef’ as they lead a healthy-eating cook-along session for guests to join in at home.
During the one-hour lesson, the expert team will help guests understand what makes a recipe healthy, from increasing the amount and the variety of vegetables to using herbs as seasoning instead of salt. Attendees will cook-along and be shown how to make two different healthy dishes from a simple cannellini bean recipe, including a demo of a green shakshuka which is filled with spinach and herbs and live cook-along crispy baked salmon fish fingers which are high in omega-3 fatty acids.
Throughout the live event, there will be the opportunity to ask the trio questions and, importantly, any hints and tips to help ‘Find Your Healthier You’ this summer. Members of the Waitrose Health and Cookery School teams will also be available online to answer any additional questions guests may have.
Waitrose Health Manager, Dr Emma Williams says: “We are excited to be supporting Healthy Eating Week with this fantastic, free, cookery class. Our aim is to bring some healthy cooking inspiration to our guests and offer some advice and tips on how to make healthy swaps so that everyone can live that little bit healthier.”
The Waitrose Cookery School Healthy Eating Week course runs on Thursday 17th June from 5pm – 6pm and is free to attend
