Lidl a message from the CEO

Christian Härtnagel Chief Executive Officer Lidl GB LTD

Dear Customer,
I would like to take the opportunity to personally reassure you that our teams here at Lidl GB are doing everything in our power to ensure that you continue to have access to the products you need, during these challenging times.
Many of you will have interacted with our incredible store colleagues who, along with the rest of our workforce, have been doing a phenomenal job of keeping operations running. Their dedication and commitment to you, our customers, is clearer today than it’s ever been. I would like to extend a sincere thank you to those that have expressed their gratitude to our teams. Believe me when I say that it goes a very long way.
We understand that the uncertainty around the situation is on everyone’s mind and, as a result, it’s prompting many to stock up on essential items. Please be assured that there is sufficient stock for everyone. We are continually monitoring sales and increasing supply on products that are experiencing high sales volumes. And, our warehouses are full, with our stores receiving deliveries every day. Nevertheless, like you, we share a concern for the many vulnerable people within our communities, and those supporting them, that cannot get to a store that often and are therefore struggling to get supplies when they need them. In response to this, we have also taken the additional step of temporarily limiting the sale of certain items to four per purchase, to help manage availability for everyone. These items will be clearly signposted in your local store.
We do not underestimate the crucial role that we, as a supermarket, play in our communities’ lives, and we will continue to do everything possible to ensure that we are there for all of our customers, providing food and essential items.
Finally, I would like to say a huge and heartfelt thanks to you, for your ongoing support, patience and understanding during this time.
Best wishes,
Christian Härtnagel Chief Executive Officer Lidl GB LTD
