Poland- Butter war among major retails

Kaufland customers from 2 to 3 February were able to buy  200g butter for £2.99 per pack when buying 2 units. “The regular price of this product is PLN 5.99, which is quite an attractive offer if we take into account that in some shops it already cost even around PLN 10”.

Biedronka was quick to respond to the promotion. On Friday, 3 February, for one day 200g butter in Biedronka cost PLN 2.99. The lower price was valid when buying two pieces and with the Moja Biedronka card.

Lidl entered the butter war. “It announced that there would be ‘big butter price reductions’ in the discounters for the whole month.  200g butter has dropped in the shops from £6.99 to £5.99. Mlekovita’s Masło Polskie is still quite expensive at £7.99 for 200g, but until recently its price in Lidl was £8.47.” –
