LuLu Hypermarket to host the 2nd edition of Taste New Zealand Week in Saudi Arabia

New Zealand premium food and beverage products will be showcased in Riyadh, Jeddah, Yanbu and Dammam

New Zealand Trade and Enterprise (NZTE), the government agency responsible for helping New Zealand businesses to grow internationally, is bringing Taste New Zealand Week to LuLu Hypermarkets across 4 regions in Saudi Arabia – Riyadh, Jeddah, Yanbu and Dammam – where consumers will have a chance to sample some of the island nation’s top food brands.

Part of the ‘Made with Care’ government campaign, Taste New Zealand Week will run from 25th February – 2nd March 2024 and showcase 7 brands from the dairy, honey,

meat and produce categories: Egmont Honey, Fonterra, Mānuka Doctor, RockitTM apple, Silver Fern Farms, Wattie’s and NIG Nutritionals. The event aims to highlight the special connection that New Zealand producers have to the land and sea; a relationship founded on care and respect, and an inherent understanding that when nature thrives, we all thrive. Visitors will be able to sample the brands on offer throughout the week- long event.

New Zealand is a world-class leader in the food and beverage industry and is a trusted supplier of quality products and ingredients to more than 140 countries. The country’s nutrient-rich soil, lush pastures, temperate climate and unspoiled coastlines, combined with the care, attention and expertise of its producers delivers delicious food and drink, bursting with incredible flavour.

Commenting on the event, Joel Sims, New Zealand’s Trade Commissioner for Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Oman and Kuwait said: “The Kingdom of Saudi Arabia is undergoing the biggest transformation in its history, spearheaded by The Crown Prince, Mohammed Bin Salman’s 2030 vision. The 2030 vision includes a focus on food security, and New Zealand has a significant and growing presence in this sector. I look forward to welcoming everyone attending Taste New Zealand Week commencing 25th February 2024.”

New Zealand’s highly transparent and rigorous food safety system, overseen by the New Zealand Government, includes clear food safety laws that apply across the food production supply chain. It ensures food is safe to eat, risks are identified and managed, and that New Zealand’s reputation for stringent food safety is upheld.

New Zealand exports more than half the food it produces, delivering safe, tasty, nutritious, ethical and premium-quality food and beverage products to millions of people across the world.
