Morrisons Shakes Up Operations with Closures and Price Hikes

Morrisons has announced a significant restructuring move, shutting down 69 locations—52 in-store cafés and 17 supermarkets—resulting in job losses for 365 employees. At the same time, the retailer has discreetly increased prices in its cafés, with some menu items seeing a 6.25% rise, such as the Ultimate Breakfast now priced at £8.50. These measures reflect the company’s bid to streamline costs while maintaining profitability in a highly competitive grocery sector.
