Fruit Attraction will once again become a meeting point for agri-food innovation with the hosting of a new edition of Biotech Attraction, the conference organised by BIOVEGEN and Fruit Attraction under the theme “New horizons in plant innovation”.
The event will take place on Wednesday 7 October in the Fruit Forum by Timac Agro auditorium, located in the connecting hub between Halls 1 and 3 at IFEMA MADRID, as part of the programme of technical conferences for the 18th edition of Fruit Attraction.
The conference will demonstrate how plant biotechnology has established itself as a strategic tool for improving the competitiveness of the agri-food industry, accelerating innovation and tackling some of the main challenges facing agriculture, including sustainability, production efficiency and adapting to new market demands.
Furthermore, the conference will enable attendees to request bilateral meetings with other participants, thereby fostering direct contact between companies, research centres, technology organisations and investors interested in innovation projects.
The programme will be addressing some of the key trends that are transforming plant innovation, ranging from the application of artificial intelligence and the management of omics data in genetic improvement processes, with the participation of PLOID AI BIOTECH and Agrícola El Bosque, to the scientific and technological capabilities of leading centres such as IRNAS-CSIC, AINIA, CNTA and Fundación MEDINA. It will also be examining the role of collaboration between businesses, research centres and public authorities as a driver of innovation, with case studies being presented by TIMAC AGRO and the GO PISTABIOTECH and GO VINEURO projects.
The 18th edition of the trade fair, organised by IFEMA MADRID and FEPEX is taking place from 6 to 8 October, with attendance figures expected to exceed 2,500 companies, with 162,000 square metres of exhibition space and more than 121,000 professionals from 150 countries, consolidating its position as one of the industry’s leading international events.
