Continente Introduces A Vegan Yogurt Alternative

A new vegan alternative to yoghurts called Vegegurtes has been introduced by the Portuguese supermarket chain Continente as part of their “Powered by Plants” line of goods.

The new, all vegetable-based line is supplemented with calcium, vitamin D, and B12, and all varieties are made in Portugal.

The new Vegegurts are now available at Continente locations all over Portugal and are guaranteed by the European Vegetarian Union, the umbrella organization of vegan and vegetarian associations and societies throughout Europe. They are also naturally lactose-free, gluten-free, and suitable for vegan consumers.

The new private-label options come in both coconut- and almond-based varieties.

The coconut-based Vegegurts come in two 120g forms and come in three flavors: Natural, Strawberry, and Mango Passion Fruit. They cost €1.39.

The almond-based variant is also available in three flavors: Natural, Red Fruits, and Peach Passionfruit; it is priced at €1.49 and is packaged in a 2 x 120g format.

These vegetable-based yoghurts provide an option for individuals looking to minimize their intake of animal-based goods and are suitable for vegans, gluten- and lactose-intolerant persons.

The desire among Portuguese customers for creative and revolutionary goods aimed at vegans has risen due to rising worries about health and healthy eating, as well as rising environmental consciousness and attention to animal welfare.
