Share Ray Stevenson, the talented actor recognized for his appearances in notable TV series such as Rome, Vikings, and Dexter, has sadly passed away at the age of 58.

Stevenson was renowned for his roles in the Thor films and the Divergent series, in addition to his contributions to various UK television shows including Band of Gold, Peak Practice, and Murphy’s Law.

The actor’s US-based publicist firm, Viewpoint, confirmed his passing to the BBC but refrained from disclosing further details surrounding his demise.

Although the exact cause of his death remains undisclosed, reports suggest that Stevenson had been hospitalized during the filming of a movie on the Italian island of Ischia.

At the time of his passing, he was actively involved in the production of an action film titled Cassino in Ischia.

Tragically, news of his death emerged merely four days before his 59th birthday.

Born in Northern Ireland, Stevenson relocated to England at the age of eight, as his father served with the Royal Air Force (RAF) near Lisburn, County Antrim, during his birth year in 1964.

His family settled in Newcastle upon Tyne, and he spent a significant portion of his childhood in England.

Ray Stevenson’s career in pictures Stevenson’s passion for acting was ignited after witnessing John Malkovich’s performance in a play at a West End theatere in London.

He pursued his acting studies at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School, and one of his early television appearances was in the Catherine Cookson drama The Dwelling Place.

Subsequently, he made appearances in a diverse range of British TV shows, including Waking the Dead, Dalziel and Pascoe.
