Walmart to close three IT hubs.

According to a late-Monday story in The Wall Street Journal, Walmart intends to shut down three of its technological centers in the United States and order hundreds of employees to move if they want to maintain their jobs.

According to the story, the retail behemoth would also mandate that all tech employees work at least two days a week in the office.

The shop is the most recent business to ask staff members to return to work. The CEO of Disney, Bob Iger, informed staff members last month that they will be expected to work four days a week from an office; according to the Journal, Vanguard Group and Paycom Software have already made similar announcements.

According to the Global Chief Technology Officer Suresh Kumar, offices in Austin, Texas; Carlsbad, California; and Portland, Oregon—all centers that housed IT staff—will shut.
