A new SPAR forecourt store for Gallows Point, Beaumaris
Blakemore Trade Partners, SPAR’s wholesaler for Central and Southeast England and Wales, welcomes Anglesey Boat Company to SPAR with the development of their site at Gallows Point, Beaumaris in Anglesey.
Anglesey Boat Company own the SPAR branded ABC Service Station set in the popular seaside town of Beaumaris. The ABC Service Station team are new to SPAR but have been trading as independent forecourt retailers on their boatyard for over 40 years.
“We were looking to develop our site and expand our business. After speaking to Blakemore Trade Partners, seeing their market knowledge coupled with the strength of the SPAR brand and overall support, we knew we had chosen the right convenience partner. They could see the potential of our site and realise our vision,” said Stephen Jones, Manager of ABC Service Station.
The area of Beaumaris is popular with boatowners and tourists as well as local shoppers who use the store daily. It was previously a small kiosk standing at only 450sqft but after a complete refit and development, the store has doubled in size and the store opened in February this year. Anglesey Boat Company has invested a substantial £150,000 into the Gallows Point site. The shop itself was designed and refitted by Blakemore Design and Shopfitting.
Along with a credible convenience store offering, a huge range of chilled food has been added. Costa Coffee, a Slush Puppy Machine and a Rustlers hot food unit are now available as well as a range of vaping products. Parcel collection with Evri is also available.
A nod to sustainability too has been added into the development with new LED lighting and new energy efficient refrigeration installed with onsite recycling.
There are four petrol pumps on the forecourt, with the fuel supplied by Texaco. It also offers air and water machines for motorists, with the addition of shower and toilet facilities for boatowners only.
There is ample parking available at ABC Service Station which is an added bonus as parking in Beaumaris can be tricky in the summer months. A community-minded business, the store supports many local charities, provide Christmas trees to the local community councils and store manage Steve is a Volunteer with HM Coastguard.
