London, UK — SAI, the leading active intelligence solution for stores, will showcase the latest enhancements across its SAI One Platform at NRF Europe (15 – 17 Sep 2026, Paris Expo Porte de Versailles).
Exhibiting on Stand #B-044 in Hall 6, SAI will showcase the latest innovations helping retailers effectively run and protect their stores, using visual data and AI to drive estate-wide performance and profitability while keeping colleagues and customers safe.
Unified store intelligence to drive estate-wide performance
At the same time that retailers face rising costs, stubbornly high levels of theft and crime are amplifying the operational burden on stores, making it harder for retail businesses to keep staff, shoppers and stock safe. Recognising that running stores has never been more complex, retailers are struggling to connect and integrate point solutions to address these growing and increasingly interconnected challenges.
Offering a unified, end-to-end solution, SAI One blends computer vision with GenAI to turn traditionally ‘passive’ store surveillance systems into an active, operational platform for real-time store intelligence.
Using existing store camera infrastructure, proprietary AI analyses live feeds using SAI’s advanced Visual Language Model (VLM) to build a comprehensive, contextual picture of how stores actually operate. This then surfaces meaningful operational signals, insight cues and timely staff alerts that drive estate-wide performance, from Loss Prevention to Operations, including shopper flow, queue management and health & safety, to Retail Media, such as heat mapping and dwell time.
“Through continuous innovation, we help retailers run every estate location as smoothly and effectively as their best-performing stores, turning real-time visual data into real-world action that drives competitive advantage,” commented Som Sinha, CEO of SAI.
SAI One: active store intelligence powered by patented innovation
The VLM technology which underpins the SAI One platform was recently granted a U.S. patent, issued under the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (U.S. patent number: 12694682).
The patent recognises the solution’s unique ability to create reusable store intelligence across multiple functions, leveraging its multimodal AI video-language architecture to convert time sequences of camera frames into contextual, machine-readable insight.
By acting as an intelligence layer that translates isolated actions into context, the solution turns single visual images into structured operational data flows, which initiates the appropriate – and most profitable – next action for retail teams.
“We’ve engineered our Visual Language Model to move beyond Computer Vision alone, combining Vision AI with GenAI to understand not just what is happening across the store, but why it matters,” said Abhijit Sanyal, Chief Technology Officer at SAI. “Securing this patent validates that innovation and reinforces our commitment to pushing the boundaries of intelligent retail operations.”
Helping Iceland reduce retail loss by 80%
SAI’s patented innovation has helped retailers, including UK frozen food grocer Iceland, significantly reduce shrink while honing operational effectiveness.
Operating over 1,000 UK stores, including 700 High Street locations, Iceland wanted to reduce shoplifting without adding unnecessary friction, excessive labour or extra operational burden. Deploying SAI One to overlay multi-modal visual AI onto its existing camera infrastructure, Iceland was able to derive real-time intelligence across self- and assisted-checkouts, aisles and entrances, delivering high-accuracy detection across shrink and operational issues.
High-fidelity real-time alerts, sent out within 8 seconds of suspicious activity being confirmed, helped deliver an 80% reduction in loss, while reducing ‘false’ alerts by 50%.
“SAI is playing a huge part in [improving] our worst 100 stores, which cost us about a third of our total shrink number,” said Andy Edwards, Head of Loss Prevention & Corporate Audit at Iceland. “The platform is not just helping us reduce shrink – making Iceland one of the hardest places to steal from on the High Street – it’s also helping colleagues on the shopfloor from a productivity perspective.”
