Home Bargains has inaugurated a new £400 million automated warehouse in St Helens, designed to support its network of 300 stores. The facility features cutting-edge automation technology, with 80% of operations automated, positioning it among the most advanced retail distribution centres in the UK.
The warehouse employs 1,000 people, reflecting the balance between automation and human oversight. This investment underpins Home Bargains’ ambition to expand to as many as 1,000 stores nationwide, enhancing supply chain efficiency and responsiveness.
