Ottolenghi debuts ice cream range exclusively in Waitrose

Ottolenghi is opening up their freezer this summer, with the launch of a brand-new range of ice creams.

They’ve taken three flavours – vanilla, pistachio and coffee – and folded in the sort of combinations that make them smile. Miso caramel with vanilla, sour cherry with pistachio, cardamom with coffee. Each one is made using West Country cream and conceived as the ultimate shortcut pudding. A limited edition collection designed for summer alfresco feasting.

Whether you eat them straight from the tub (guilty), sandwich them between biscuits, or drizzle the vanilla with good olive oil – these are desserts with maximum impact and minimal fuss.

“When it comes to desserts, I’m often happier assembling than making from scratch,” says Yotam Ottolenghi. “When everyone’s already satisfied and slightly wine-happy, reaching into the freezer feels like the sensible thing to do. We’ve made our own ice cream using West Country cream and folded in combinations that make me smile. Plus, they’ve been a saviour after I’ve served up a big summer feast.”

The range includes:

Madagascan Vanilla & Miso Salted Caramel 

Vanilla ice cream, generously swirled with miso salted caramel. The miso adds a wonderful depth – enhancing the caramel’s richness with a savoury, umami edge that keeps you coming back for more.

Roasted Pistachio & Sour Cherry Swirl 

A double dose of pistachio – both smooth paste and crunchy chopped nuts – brings deep nuttiness and texture, all balanced by a vivid ripple of sharp sour cherries.

Coffee & Cardamom 

Bold, aromatic coffee ice cream, gently spiced with cardamom. The result is warm, complex and utterly satisfying – the cardamom lifts the coffee without overwhelming it.
