M&S Anticipates Record-Breaking British Lamb Sales Ahead of Easter – ISN Reveal

Marks & Spencer is preparing for what is المتوقع to be its strongest ever week of British fresh lamb sales as the Easter weekend approaches, reinforcing its commitment to quality, seasonality, and domestic sourcing.

The retailer remains the only UK supermarket to offer a full Best in Season range across all its fresh lamb, which is 100% British throughout the year. This programme aligns closely with the natural farming calendar, introducing early-season lamb from the South of England before gradually moving north as spring transitions into summer.

Since 2023, M&S has recorded an impressive 25% increase in fresh lamb volumes, with this Easter period forecast to set a new sales benchmark. The retailer’s seasonal offering includes more than 20 premium centrepieces, such as Harissa Lamb Shoulder, Feta and Spinach Stuffed Lamb Leg, alongside traditional beef joints, all available across its Foodhall estate.

This performance forms part of M&S’s broader Reshape for Growth strategy, which aims to double the size of its food division while increasing value market share by 1%. By focusing on high-quality staples and seasonal products, the retailer continues to strengthen customer loyalty and enhance its quality perception, which has risen steadily from 66% in 2023 to 69% in 2025.

According to the latest Kantar WorldPanel data, M&S Food has now delivered 43 consecutive periods of growth, outperforming the wider market in both value and volume. The business has also expanded its customer base significantly, attracting more than 920,000 additional households over the past 12 weeks compared to the previous year.

Alex Freudmann, Managing Director of M&S Food, highlighted the retailer’s ongoing transformation:

Marks & Spencer is on a journey to double the size of its food business by consistently delivering exceptional quality and value. Our commitment to 100% British lamb, supported by our Best in Season programme, ensures customers receive the very best at key moments like Easter. We expect this to be our strongest ever week for fresh lamb, as families continue to choose M&S for standout centrepieces to celebrate together.”

With strong momentum and a clear strategic direction, M&S continues to position itself as a premium yet accessible destination for seasonal food, particularly during key trading moments such as Easter.
