Quality Control Music co-founder and CEO Pierre “P” Thomas has been hospitalized in Las Vegas following a serious medical emergency, according to reports published Friday.
Thomas is reportedly receiving medical care in an intensive care unit. Reports citing sources familiar with the situation say he suffered a heart attack, although details about his condition remain limited.
Quality Control has confirmed that Thomas is alive and receiving medical treatment, while asking the public to keep him and his family in their thoughts and prayers and to respect their privacy.
Thomas is one of the most influential executives in modern hip-hop. He co-founded Quality Control Music with Kevin “Coach K” Lee in 2013, helping build the Atlanta-based company into a major force in music and entertainment.
Under their leadership, Quality Control became closely associated with artists including Migos, Lil Baby, Lil Yachty and City Girls, among others. The company later expanded beyond music into management, sports, film and television.
News of Thomas’ hospitalization prompted concern across the hip-hop community Friday, while unverified social-media reports falsely claimed that he had died. Those reports were contradicted by statements confirming that Thomas remains alive and under medical care.
Further details about his condition and recovery have not been publicly released. For now, his family and Quality Control are asking for privacy as he continues to receive treatment.
