Nearly 24,900 pounds of frozen buffalo chicken products have been recalled in the United States after being produced without the required federal inspection, raising concerns over food safety and product traceability.
The recall involves Boston-based Shanghai Ravioli Corporation and covers products including Buffalo Chicken Rangoon and Benedetto’s Buffalo Chicken Mozzarella Sticks. The products were made between July 8, 2025 and June 29, 2026 and were distributed to foodservice locations in Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island and Vermont.
The US Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service discovered the issue during surveillance. The products carried an inspection mark using establishment number “EST. 18004”, despite the facility not having federal inspection approval. Products made without inspection can potentially present risks involving undeclared allergens, harmful bacteria or other contaminants.
Foodservice businesses that have the recalled products are being told not to serve them and to dispose of them or return them to the place of purchase. So far, no illnesses or injuries have been linked to the recalled products.
